What We Believe:
We believe that our first responsibility is to glorify God, who is revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Gen 1:26; John 1:1; Rev 5:13
We believe that the Christian should strive to be like Christ in mind, body, speech, and action. “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus….” Phil 2:5
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God, fully human, and fully exalted. We believe that he was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, gave himself on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, was raised three days later, and now reigns in heaven. Matt 1:21; Romans 5:8
We believe that through the grace given on the cross that our sins are forgiven and that though accepting the free gift of grace we too may someday live with Christ in heaven. Romans 3:21-26; 11:5; Eph 2:5; 4:7; 2 Tim 1:1
We believe that the Bible is God’s authoritative word. Our supreme authority is not with tradition or with the ideas and thoughts of mankind, but rather with the inspired Word of God. The Bible is the basis of truth for all who believe. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We believe that moral values are based in God’s character as revealed to us through scripture. They are not relative. Acts 4:32-37; Rom 7:7; 1 Tim 1:3; 1 John 5:3
We believe that Christian community is essential. It is intentional in fostering character, conduct, and accountability. Ephesians 1:10; 2;
We believe that God wants all men, women, and children to believe in Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:1-8
We believe all Christians are ministers of the Gospel. It is the responsibility of every Christian to recognize the gifts and talents given to them and to use them in service to others for God. Romans 12:5-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; 1 Peter 4:10-11
We believe that the Christians ultimate purpose in life is to change lives for God’s glory. Mt 28:1-20; 2 Tim 4:1-2; 1 John 4:7-21
What We Do:
Baptism by immersion as part of the salvation process.
The baptism seen in the New Testament is always immersion and is always for the purpose of salvation. Thus, we desire to follow the New Testament practice of baptism.
Weekly Observations of the Lord's Supper.
We choose to follow the example of the church at Toras, in Acts 20:7, which "met on the first day of the week to break bread". We do this to remember the incredible act of love by Jesus Christ dying on the cross to bring hope to mankind.
Every Member Ministry.
We hold that every member is a minister, not just paid ministers. Thus, it is important for each Christian to know the gift(s) God has given him/her.
No Denominational Hierarchy.
We hold to the concept of intercongregational independence, as is the New Testament example.
We understand the emotional, social, physical, moral, and spiritual development of people and how to effectively minister to them where they are.
We live in harmony with a Christian worldview so that we can know how to live in and respond to the world in which we live. 1 Chronicles 12:32
